Job Responsibilities

  • Operation of CNC lathes and mills
  • Perform Tool changes
  • Pre-set Tools
  • Ability to set up machining job per Programmers set up notes and or verbal direction, including fixturing, tooling, etc.
  • Set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Experience of machining tight tolerance parts is beneficial.
  • Study blueprints and drawings to understand product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Required to input production data into computer using SAP and SharePoint.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
  • Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts.
  • Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance in regard to machine set up.
  • Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Must be willing to perform but not limited to the following tasks: milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, and all bench operations, machine set-up and tear down.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department Supervisor, Team Lead, or Department Manager.
  • Maintain SDS checksheets
  • Ability to perform checks using methods such as FARO, hard gaging (using micrometers, bore gages and the like).
  • Ability to mentor/train team members is a must.
  • Ability to select proper tooling per cutting parameters is a must
  • Work Holding design experience is beneficial.

  • General understanding of cutting tools and ability to identify proper tool when tool changes are required.
  • Experience of machining tight tolerance parts is beneficial.
  • Attention to detail in regards to part quality and non-conformance issues
  • Excellent verbal, written and digital communication skills is a must.
  • GD&T knowledge is preferred
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  •  

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and at least 3+ years of programming related work experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding, follow detailed and uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
